Austria, as EU president, to support Europe's anti-Russian sanctions - Kurz
VIENNA. June 5 (Interfax) - Vienna, as the president in the European Union, will support Brussels' stance on anti-Russian sanctions, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said.
"We will take over the presidency in the EU on July 1 and we will actively participate in the European Union's stance, support the EU's decisions and, needless to say, sanctions," Kurz said at a press conference following negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
At the same time, he expressed hope that "the progress in relations between the European Union and Russia would be achieved owing to a more active dialogue."
Kurz added that he expects the same progress in the situation in southeastern Ukraine, as well as the implementation of the Minsk Agreements.
