Biggest rise in Russia bookings for world cup comes from Paraguay, Peru, Panama
MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - Tourists from Paraguay, Peru and Panama account for the biggest rise in bookings to Russia for the FIFA 2018 world cup from the same period last year, ForwardKeys said.
Experts, who analyze 17 million booking transactions daily, said the increase in Paraguay, Peru and Panama was 52.1, 39.3 and 31.6 times, respectively. Other top countries included Nigeria (27.6), Tunisia (12.1), Bangladesh (9.8), Saudi Arabia (9.3), Egypt (8.9), Colombia (8.8) and Morocco (8.3).
Maya Lomidze, Executive Director of the Russian Tour Operators' Association, said earlier that fans from Argentina, Colombia, the United States, Peru and Iran booked the most air flights to Russia for the world cup period, so most football fans will most likely come from these countries.
