Telegram lawyers say ECHR expecting appeal against messenger's blocking to be lodged by June 20
MOSCOW. June 14 (Interfax) - The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) is expecting an appeal against the blocking of the Telegram messenger service in Russia to be lodged by June 20, Telegram lawyers said.
"The ECHR has asked to appeal the blocking by June 20," Pavel Chikov, the head of the Agora international group representing interests of the messenger, wrote on his Telegram channel.
Earlier on Thursday, the Moscow City Court upheld the messenger's blocking and dismissed the appeal of the Telegram defense.
"Roskomnadzor keeps pretending to block [Telegram], courts keep pretending on making decisions, the FSB keeps doing whatever it wants, and Telegram keeps working," Chikov said.
