Gold production in Russia rose 8% to 33.46 tonnes in Jan-Feb - MinFin
MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax) - Gold production in Russia amounted to 33.46 tonnes in January-February 2018, the Finance Ministry said, citing data on supplies of feedstock to Russian gold refineries.
This is an 8% increase from January-February 2017, when production totaled 31.01 tonnes.
Mine production grew 16% to 12.26 tonnes, byproduct gold production rose 15% to 2.49 tonnes and secondary gold production fell, by 34% to 0.92 tonnes.
Silver production in Russia soared 1.7-fold in January to 97.92 tonnes on the back of a 5.8-fold increase in recoveries from scrap to 31.01 tonnes.
Mine production grew 9% to 25.95 tonnes, byproduct gold production fell 21% to 2.12 tonnes and secondary gold production rose, by 18% to 5.39 tonnes.
Silver production in Russia soared 31% to 170.52 tonnes.
