Former Russian Culture Ministry dept head Mazo charged with 450-mln-ruble embezzlement may be in hiding in Spain - source
MOSCOW. June 20 (Interfax) - Boris Mazo, the former director of the Russian Culture Ministry's property management department charged with embezzling 450 million rubles in the construction of Hermitage Museum facilities, may be in hiding in Spain, an informed source told Interfax.
"To the detectives' knowledge, Mazo may be staying in Spain where he went to avoid criminal prosecution in Russia," the source said.
Mazo was charged with embezzlement in late May and put on the international wanted list on June 1.
Interfax has yet to obtain official information on the matter.
