Russian Interior Ministry to amend naturalization process for skilled foreign professionals
MOSCOW. July 4 (Interfax) - The Russian Interior Ministry is planning to introduce amendments to legislation in order to facilitate skilled foreign professionals' acquisition of Russian citizenship, according to Olga Kirillova, the head of the ministry's main department for migration issues.
"Today, amendments need to be introduced to the provisions on the acquisition of Russian citizenship by skilled [foreign] professionals. Given our economy's demands, especially given the demand for skilled professional in the labor market, we understand that this provision should be amended," Kirillova said during a press conference on Wednesday.
The ministry is currently elaborating these amendments, she said.
