Vnukovo Airport handles 18.2% more passengers in June

MOSCOW. July 10 (Interfax) - Vnukovo International Airport handled 2.18 million passengers in June 2018, 18.2% more than in the same month last year, the Moscow airport reported.

The number of passengers on international flights rose by 13.9% to 896,000.

Vnukovo served 1.287 million passengers travelling on domestic flights in June, 21.4% more year-on-year.

Rossiya Airlines accounted for 27.3% of passenger traffic at Vnukovo in June with 593,400 passengers, UTair - 24.6% with 534,400 passengers and low-cost airline Pobeda - 49% to 486,100 passengers. Vnukovo also said that Russian charter airline Ifly saw strong growth, carrying 46.1% more passengers, and Tunisair launched flights on June 6.

Vnukovo handled 9.42 million passengers in the first six months of 2018, 19.8% more than in the same period last year.

Other airports in the Moscow air hub, Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo, have not yet reported their passenger traffic figures for June.
