Vostochny Port handles 5% more coal in H1
VLADIVOSTOK. July 11 (Interfax) - Vostochny Port , the largest stevedoring company at the Port of Vostochny in Primorye, handled 12.3 million tonnes of coal in the first half of 2018, 5% more than in the same period of 2017.
This was an all-time record for the company, Vostochny Port, which specializes in handling coal for export, said.
Vostochny Port has shipped coal this year to South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, India, Pakistan, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore. The leading importer is South Korea, which accounted for 36% of all coal exported through Vostochny.
The company unloaded 161,400 gondola cars of coal in the first half, including 125,600 or 78% innovative gondola cars with increased capacity. The company handled 288 vessels.
