Russian jets scrambled 12 times to intercept foreign recon planes this week - Defense Ministry
MOSCOW. July 20 (Interfax) - Twenty-five foreign aircraft performed reconnaissance along the Russian border over the past week, the Defense Ministry's newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda reported on Friday.
On-duty fighter jets of the Russian air defense forces were scrambled 12 times to intercept and escort reconnaissance aircraft, according to the newspaper's weekly infographic report.
"No violations of Russian airspace were allowed," the ministry said.
