Russia won't allow resumption of war in Karabakh - Armenian PM

YEREVAN. July 20 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he believes that Russia will not allow the resumption of a full-scale war in the region.

"The threat of the resumption of war in our region always exists, and we should be prepared for such a scenario. Everyone understands that, as a superpower, Russia is capable of not allowing the resumption of war in the region," Pashinyan said at a press conference on Friday.

"I can't believe that Russia, a strategic ally and friend of Armenia, would not use its leverage to prevent the resumption of war," he said. "And I can't believe that it won't use its leverage to keep Azerbaijan from staging provocations," he said.
