Kuzbassrazrezugol boosts coal production 2% in H1
KEMEROVO. July 23 (Interfax) - Kuzbassrazrezugol Coal Company (KRU) boosted coal production 2% to 23.4 million tonnes in January-June 2018, Urals Mining and Metals Company (UMMC), which controls the company, said.
The total includes 3.2 million tonnes of coking coal.
KRU shipped 20.8 million tonnes of coal to customers in H1. "70% of total shipments are currently for export: 14.6 million tonnes of coal was shipped to foreign customers and 6 million tonnes was shipped to domestic customers," the statement said.
Coal conversion at KRU plants totaled 20.7 million tonnes, amounting to 88.5% of total production.
Stripping increased 4.6% to 173 million cubic meters in H1 2018.
Kuzbassrazrezugol is maintaining its plans for 2018 to produce almost 48 million tonnes of coal.
