Xi Jinping accepts invitation to Eastern Economic Forum, will be one of main guests - Ushakov
MOSCOW. June 24 (Interfax) - Chinese President Xi Jinping has accepted an invitation to attend the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok in September, and he will be one of the main guests there, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said.
"He accepted the invitation to take part in the forum, this time as one of its main guests," Ushakov told journalists on Tuesday.
Also, President Vladimir Putin and Xi will meet on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in South Africa on July 26, he said.
"There will be a traditional meeting with Xi Jinping at 7 p.m. on July 26," Ushakov said.
The Russian and Chinese leaders will discuss all areas of bilateral cooperation, joint Russian-Chinese efforts in the international arena, and Xi's participation in the Eastern Economic Forum, he said.
There is an agreement between Russia and China that the leaders of the two countries will meet at every international forum in which they both take part, Ushakov said.
"This agreement is carefully fulfilled, and this time the meeting will be an informal discussion over lunch," he said.
