Novatek to launch Yuzhno-Khadyryakhinskoye field in May 2019 with production of 1 bcm

TARKO-SALE. July 26 (Interfax) - Novatek-Tarkosaleneftegaz LLC, a Novatek subsidiary, is planning to launch the Yuzhno-Khadyryakhinskoye field in May of next year, where up to 1 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas will be produced per year, the company's CEO Vil Fakhretdinov told journalists.

"Having bought the license for this field in December last year, we planned to launch on May 1, 2019, have conducted surveys. The design and engineering process is now underway for the cluster site. For these purposes, we have mobilized a contractor for the construction of a winter road ahead of schedule. A length of 100 kilometers of winter roads needs to be built, equipment commissioned and materials for construction prepared. We are planning to produce up to 1 bcm of gas per year," he said.

Gas from the Yuzhno-Khadyryakhinskoye section will be sent to a gas treatment plant at the neighboring Severo-Khancheyskoye field.

Fakhretdinov said that the project to develop the Yuzhno-Khadyryakhinskoye field is being implemented according to the principle of unmanned technology; processes will be managed remotely while the facility will be supplied with electricity from wind turbines and solar cells.

Novatek-Tarkosaleneftegaz completed a reorganization by merging with JSC Yuzhno-Khadyryakhinskoye in May this year.

JSC Yuzhno-Khadyryakhinskoye was spun-off from JSC Evrotek in 2017. The company holds licenses for the geological exploration and hydrocarbon production at the Yuzhno-Khadyryakhinskoye section, near the Severo-Khancheiskoye field which is being developed by Novatek-Tarkosaleneftegaz.
