Work of Prospective Research Foundation to be adjusted - Borisov
MOSCOW. July 30 (Interfax-AVN) - The Prospective Research Foundation will work more closely with the Russian Defense Ministry, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov, who is in charge of the defense sector.
"The work of this foundation is going in the right direction, it only needs some adjustment. I believe that the level of interaction between the foundation and the Defense Ministry is not high enough; I will raise it. What does that mean? The main areas of research should be determined on the basis of the conception of development and the possible scenarios of future conflicts. They should be determined by the strategy, and the strategy, in the Armed Forces, is the General Staff and the Main Operative Directorate," Borisov told reporters.
Work on this track has already been done, he said. "We had meetings with the administration of the Prospective Research Foundation and elevated the level of interaction. This isn't just words, they will be put forth in a memorandum," he said.
On July 26, Borisov was appointed the head of the Prospective Research Foundation's board of trustees.
The Prospective Research Foundation's goal is to promote breakthrough scientific research for the country's defense and the security of the state.
The foundation sends the Defense Ministry projects for expert evaluation and proposals to support them in order to create new and upgrade existing weapons and military hardware.
