Talks with Japanese defense minister frank - Shoigu
MOSCOW. July 31 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has positively evaluated the talks with his Japanese counterpart Itsunori Onodera dedicated to military interaction.
"Today, we with Japanese Defense Minister Mr. [Itsunori] Onodera substantively discussed the areas of military interaction and shared our assessments on the regional situation. The dialogue was frank and open," Shoigu said in his opening remarks at the Russian-Japanese 2+2 talks in Moscow.
The talks between the Russian and Japanese foreign and defense ministries are playing an important role in ensuring security and stability in the Asia Pacific Region, he said.
"We hope continue the substantial discussion on the acutest and most pressing issues now," Shoigu said.
