U.S. senators invite Russian colleagues to Washington

MOSCOW. Aug 6 (Interfax) - The delegation of U.S. senators have invited members of the Russian Federation Council's Foreign Affairs Committee to visit Washington or organize a meeting in a third country, U.S. Republican Senator Rand Paul said.

"I am pleased to announce that we will be continuing this conversation. We have invited members of the foreign affairs committee of Russia to come to the United States to meet with us in Washington," he said after a meeting with Federation Council Foreign Affairs Committee head Konstantin Kosachyov.

"We have also agreed if it can be arranged to meet in neutral country with all of our committees," the U.S. senator said.

"I think this is incredibly important," he said.
