Gas prices for Russian industry to be raised starting August 21
MOSCOW. Aug 13 (Interfax) - Commercial users in Russia will see prices for gas supplied by Gazprom rise 3.4% beginning on August 21, according to a resolution registered by the Justice Ministry on the official legal information website on August 10.
According to current procedure, laws and regulations approved by federal executive bodies take effect simultaneously throughout Russia 10 days after their official publication, if the laws or regulations themselves do not stipulate another procedure of their entry into force.
The application of this principle with respect to the entry of these documents into force was earlier noted by deputy head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) Anatoly Golomolzin. "In the established order, consistent with procedure," he said.
Thus, regulated gas prices will increase beginning on August 21.
Interfax queries directed to the FAS and the Justice Ministry last Friday have remained unanswered.
