Putin, permanent members of Russian Security Council discuss agenda of upcoming talks with Merkel

MOSCOW. Aug 17 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has discussed the agenda of his Saturday talks with German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and domestic affairs with permanent members of the Russian Security Council, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.

"Opinions have been exchanged on the issues that may be discussed in Germany tomorrow during the upcoming conversation with Chancellor Merkel, including Syria affairs and Ukraine," Peskov said.

"Topical items on the domestic socioeconomic agenda were also discussed," he said.

Federation Council Chairperson Valentina Matviyenko, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, and Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov attended the meeting.
