Russia could surpass United States, be global arms market leader - Rosoboronexport head
KUBINKA (Moscow region). Aug 21 (Interfax) - Russia aspires to replace the United States as the top global supplier of weapons and military hardware, Rosoboronexport head Alexander Mikheyev told journalists at the Army 2018 forum.
"Clearly, there are such ambitions because the industry gives us this chance," Mikheyev said when asked if Russia wanted to be No. 1 on the global arms market.
New weapons and the demand for hardware after Russia's Syria campaign can help realize this ambition, Mikheyev said.
