Ruble used in arms deal payments with CSTO countries for long - FSMTC head

MOSCOW. Aug 24 (Interfax-AVN) - The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states switched to the ruble in payments made under arms contracts with Russia a long time ago, the head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), Dmitry Shugayev, told Interfax.

"We have been using the ruble in the CSTO for long," Shugayev said.

"We are using it above all in internal military-technical cooperation agreements; such payments are possible in rubles only, and it has been so since day one," he said.
