Special representative status of new ambassador to Belarus highlights special nature of Russian-Belarussian ties - Peskov
MOSCOW. Aug 24 (Interfax) - The status of Russia's special representative for trade and economic cooperation with Belarus that was given to Russia's new ambassador to Belarus, Mikhail Babich, is called to underscore the special nature of Russian-Belarussian relations, the Kremlin said.
"This is a special ambassador in a country that is special for us. This explains why Babich has been honored with the status of special representative. This is explained by the meaning the Russian president attaches to the development of our relations and bilateral trade and economic cooperation with allied Belarus," Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told journalists.
