Putin awarded Abkhaz high state order
SUKHUM. Aug 24 (Interfax) - Abkhaz President Raul Khadjimba on Friday signed a decree awarding Russian President Vladimir Putin the Akhdz-Apsha (Honor and Glory) Order of the First Degree, the Abkhaz presidential press service reported.
Putin is awarded this top state order "for his great personal contribution to developing Abkhaz statehood, stepping up interstate relations between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation, ensuring peace and stability, and for his active support to socio-economic development in Abkhazia."
