Two people injured in south Moscow shooting

MOSCOW. Sept 3 (Interfax) - Two men have been injured in a drive-by shootout in southern Moscow; a large sum of money was stolen from them, a Moscow police spokesperson told Interfax on Monday.

"At 4:10 p.m., [police] received a report about a drive-by shootout outside number 129 in Varshavskoye shosse. According to preliminary data, two men were fired at as one of them was passing a large sum of money to the other," the spokesperson said.

The gunmen stole the money, the amount of damage is being ascertained, the spokesperson said. Police have launched an interception operation across the city.

The shooters fled in two vehicles, an informed source told Interfax.
