Man charged with killing police officer in Moscow metro arrested for 2 months - court

MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax) - The Moscow Cheryomushkinsky District Court on Wednesday ruled to arrest Nurlan Muradov, who is charged with killing a police officer in the metro station Kurskaya in Moscow, for two months.

"Muradov was taken into custody until November 3 at the investigator's request," the court press service told Interfax.

According to the Moscow directorate of the Investigative Committee, the 42-year-old man is charged with killing a law enforcement official.

The body of a police officer with a gunshot wound to his head was found in the metro station Kurskaya in the evening of September 2. The policeman had earlier stopped a man to check his documents.

"The man's residence was searched in connection with the criminal case. The search yielded a T-shirt with traces resembling blood. The blood group will be determined during a forensic evaluation," Investigative Committee official Yulia Ivanova said.

The accused has been identified and has undergone face-to-face interrogations and other investigative actions to collect and solidify evidence.
