One Ukrainian soldier killed, 3 wounded in Donbas - staff

KYIV/DONETSK. Sept 6 (Interfax) - Kyiv has reported 31 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in the past 24 hours, and said that one serviceman has been killed, and three have suffered injuries.

"The enemy has fired on our positions 31 times. It was not using weapons prohibited by the Minsk Agreements. One soldier of the Joint Forces was killed, and three suffered injuries in the hostilities," the press center of the Joint Forces Operation wrote on Facebook on Thursday morning.

According to the press center, the enemy attacked Size, Stanytsia Luhanska, Krymske, Novotoshkivske, Zolote, Shumy, Novhorodske, Opytne, Pisky, Krasnohorivka, Mariinka, Chermalyk, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Lybidinske, Vodyane, and Shyrokyne.

For its part, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has reported 17 violations by the Ukrainian army.

"The Ukrainian army has breached the truce 17 times over the day. The army attacked the following areas and populated localities: Zaitseve, Horlivka (the compound of the Gagarin Mine), Spartak, the airport (the Volvo Center), Sakhanka, Leninske, and Kominternove," a DPR representative in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) said.

There were no civilian casualties, he said.

Under an arrangement reached by the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk, the school truce took effect at midnight on August 29 in connection with the beginning of the school year.
