Vnukovo Airport handles nearly 18% more passengers in August
MOSCOW. Sept 11 (Interfax) - Vnukovo International Airport handled 2.4 million passengers in August 2018, 17.8% more than in the same month last year, the Moscow airport reported.
The number of passengers on international flights rose by 5.6% to 923,000.
Vnukovo served 1.5 million passengers travelling on domestic flights in August, 26.7% more year-on-year.
Rossiya Airlines accounted for 30.7% of passenger traffic at Vnukovo in June with 744,800 passengers, UTair - 25.7% with 623,300 passengers and low-cost airline Pobeda -21.5% with 521,500 passengers.
Vnukovo handled 14.3 million passengers in 8M 2018, 18.8% more than in the same period last year.
Other airports in the Moscow air hub, Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo, have not yet reported their passenger traffic figures for June.
