Russia sees almost 50 truce breaches in Syria in past 24 hours

MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax-AVN) - The number of truce violations committed by militants in the de-escalation area near Syria's Idlib shows no sign of decreasing, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"The number of violations committed by illegal armed units active in the Idlib de-escalation area has not declined. Russian members of the joint Russian-Turkish commission investigating breaches of the cessation of hostilities have recorded 45 instances of gunfire [in the past 24 hours], including 25 in the Latakia governorate, 17 in the Aleppo governorate, and three in the Hama governorate," the ministry said.

Turkish inspectors have observed three truce violations in the Idlib governorate and one in the Hama governorate.

Russia and Turkey recorded 55 truce breaches the day before. Pervious days saw the number of violations ranging from around 30 to 38 a day.
