Russia, China discussing uranium supplies from Trans-Baikal region mine

MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Russian uranium miner Atomredmetzoloto (ARMZ) and Chinese nuclear corporation CNNC are ready to discuss supplying China with uranium from Rudnik No.6 (Mine No. 6) in Russia's Trans-Baikal territory, ARMZ told Interfax.

"Working consultations took place with ARMZ and CNNC officials in attendance during the Eastern Economic Forum. During the meeting, the sides confirmed they intend to consider possible uranium supplies from Rudnik No. 6 to China, starting in 2023," ARMZ said.

The sides will continue consultations regarding the terms for the supplies. The financing structure for the joint Rudnik No. 6 project is also being discussed.

The Russia-China Investment Fund for Regional Development said on Wednesday that China was prepare to invest 15 billion rubles of the project's cost of 18 billion rubles.
