Russia's broad monetary base down 0.7% in August - Central Bank

MOSCOW. Sept 14 (Interfax) - Russia's broad-definition monetary base shrank 0.7% to 16.119 trillion rubles in August 2018 from 16.236 trillion rubles at the beginning of the month, the Central Bank of Russia (CBR) said on its website.

The monetary base grew 9.6% in January-August 2018, from 14.702 trillion rubles at the beginning of the year.

The monetary base was up 27.3% compared with 12.664 trillion rubles on September 1, 2017.
