No meeting with Merkel in near future on Putin's schedule - Peskov

MOSCOW. Sept 14 (Interfax) - A meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in the near future is not on Russian President Vladimir Putin's schedule, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told Interfax.

"No," he said, replying to a relevant question.

Matthias Platzeck, the chairman of the board of the German-Russian Forum, said earlier on Friday that Putin and Merkel may hold talks again in the near future.

"The federal chancellor has met with the Russian president and held talks with him twice in the past few months. They will meet again soon," Platzeck said, opening a plenary session of the German-Russian Forum in Berlin.
