Udaltsov released from custody

MOSCOW. Sept 14 (Interfax) - Left Front coordinator Sergei Udaltsov has left jail after serving a 31-day administrative arrest for violating protest rules.

"I am out and on the way home from the special detention center. Everything happened spontaneously, my complaint against the arrest extension was satisfied quite unexpectedly," Udaltsov told Interfax.

He will seek a compensation for the extra day spent in detention, he said.

"After being released I will stop the hunger strike: after all it was primarily due to my arrest," Udaltsov said, adding that he has lost 15-17 kilograms as a result.

He also said that he will appeal the decision of administrative surveillance within ten days.

"Clearly, even if surveillance remains in place, this won't make me quit political life, I will find a format for my participation. No matter what some hope for, it won't happen," Udaltsov said.
