Russian military reports volatile situation in Idlib de-escalation area

HMEIMIM. Sept 17 (Interfax-AVN) - Illegal armed groups in the Idlib de-escalation area continue to violate the ceasefire, Lt. Gen. Vladimir Savchenko, the head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria, said at a briefing on Monday.

Over 20 such instances were recorded over the past 24 hours, Savchenko said.

"Attacks in the populated localities of Qalaz Tahtani, Jubb al-Zaour (twice), Safsafa (twice), Qabuh, Ikko, Qinsibba (three times), Qalyat al-Marza in the Latakia governorate, districts of Castello (twice), Hara (three times), Handrat, Sheikh al-Qobtani (three times), Halab al-Jadid, the quarter of the scientific research center (five times) in the city of Aleppo, and the populated locality of the Zellaquiyat in the Hama governorate were recorded in the past 24 hours. Three instances of attacks in the southwestern outskirt of the populated locality of Tadef in the Aleppo governorate were also recorded," Savchenko said.
