Ishchenko to wait for decision of CPRF Central Committee on participation in repeat gubernatorial election in Primorye
VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 19 (Interfax) - Andrei Ishchenko, CPRF candidate in the gubernatorial election in Primorye, does not support the Central Elections Commission (CEC)'s decision to cancel the outcome of the gubernatorial election, but will wait for the CPRF administration's decision on further actions.
"For a start, we will deal with the second round. Because we disagree that it should be cancelled. A decision on my further participation in the election will be made by the party's central committee," Ishchenko told Interfax.
The CEC earlier on Wednesday recommended that the Primorye Territory's elections commission invalidate the outcome of the early gubernatorial election in the region.
The CEC also said it will cancel the election if the Primorye elections commission does not do that.
