Shell planning to double number of filling stations in Russia to 600 in next 5 years
YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK. Sept 25 (Interfax) - Shell is planning to double its network of filling stations from 300 to 600 in the next 5 years, Shell Country Chair Russia Cederic Cremers told journalists.
"In November we are opening our 300th filling station in Russia in St Petersburg. In the next 5-6 years we are planning to increase the number of station from 300 to 600," he said.
Cremers said that margins on the Russian retail market for petrochemicals had "come under pressure" last year.
"But we don't invest new stations based on the situation in one year. Russia is very attractive to us in the long-term plan. We believe that profitability will increase significantly in the long-term," he said.
