Russia could send commission to inspect security at Egyptian airports - transport minister
MOSCOW. Oct 11 (Interfax) - Russia could send a commission to Egypt to check local airports' readiness to ensure security, Transport Minister Evgeny Ditrikh said.
"We are discussing sending a commission there to inspect, once again, our Egyptian colleagues' readiness to provide all security measures," Ditrikh told reporters on Thursday.
The possibility of renewing flights with Sharm El Sheikh could be further discussed should Egypt raise it at the Russian-Egyptian summit talks in Sochi, he said.
"In the event of this question being put by our Egyptian colleagues we will be ready to reply to this question," Ditrikh said.
"There has been some development to this situation now," he said.
It was reported that President Vladimir Putin will be meeting with Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in Sochi on October 17 during the Egyptian leader's official visit to Russia.
