El-Sisi: NPP project is new stage of cooperation with Russia
MOSCOW. Oct 16 (Interfax) - Cairo hopes that a nuclear power plant (NPP) in El Dabaa will be built within the next few years, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said.
"I hope that the nuclear power plant in the El Dabaa area will be constructed within the next few years. I believe that this will be a new phase of our cooperation and a kind of symbol of this cooperation, manifesting our aspirations," el-Sisi said in the Russian Federation Council on Tuesday.
He said there is also a project to create a Russian industrial zone at the Suez Canal's East Port Said.
"This is a highly important fact that characterizes the development of our relations. It is a new starting point, and we have always taken advantage of your experience in this field of our integration," he said, reaffirming that Egypt is interested in fulfilling all existing plans.
