Meetings with Trump were more positive than negative - Putin
SOCHI. Oct 18 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said he is inclined to give a positive assessment to his meetings with United States President Donald Trump.
"Were our meetings with President Trump harmful or useful? I believe they were more positive than negative, despite the attempt to discredit these meetings," Putin said at the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi on Thursday.
Nevertheless, the meetings between the leaders of Russia and the U.S. did not improve the situation within the United States, he said.
"We see what's happening there, in domestic policy, but it is still better to talk and contact each other than fight and argue nonstop. The situation in domestic policy in the United States probably did not improve from our meetings. Probably because, I repeat, some are constantly trying to use this in the domestic political struggle," Putin said.
