OPEC+ meeting in Baku to take place in first half of 2019 - Azerbaijani Energy Ministry
BAKU. Oct 20 (Interfax) - An OPEC+ meeting in Baku is planned in the first six months of 2019, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov told reporters on Saturday.
"An initial decision to hold the OPEC+ meeting in Baku in 2019 has already been made. This matter will be finally settled in December 2018 during a session of the OPEC+ monitoring committee and the exact date of this meeting will be determined. But in general, the OPEC+ meeting in Baku is planned in the first six months of 2019," Shahbazov said.
It was reported earlier, citing informed sources, that the ministerial committee for monitoring the OPEC+ agreement would meet in Baku in January.
OPEC General Secretary Mohammed Barkindo also said that the next meeting of the OPEC+ ministerial monitoring committee will take place Azerbaijan next year.
OPEC members and 23 non-OPEC countries agreed to increase oil production by 1 million barrels per day given full compliance with earlier commitments to cut back oil output at a meeting in Vienna on June 23.
