Peskov calls news of drone attack on Hmeimim guided by U.S. reconnaissance plane disquieting

MOSCOW. Oct 25 (Interfax) - Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has called the news that a drone attack on Russia's Hmeimim base in Syria was carried out with guidance from a U.S. reconnaissance plane "disquieting" and said that the Russian military will look into the situation.

"You know, this is very disquieting information. Of course, no one here should have any doubts about the intention of our military to draw relevant conclusions and make a relevant analysis. In fact, it was made before the information came out," Peskov told the press on Thursday.

He added that only the military could further details.

A number of media outlets have cited Russian Deputy Defense Minister Col. Gen. Alexander Fomin as saying in Beijing that the drones that attacked Russia's Hmeimim base were guided by a U.S. reconnaissance plane.
