Poroshenko discusses settlement in Donbas with 3 Ukrainian ex-presidents

KYIV. Oct 25 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has met with three former Ukrainian presidents, Leonid Kravchuk (1991-1994), Leonid Kuchma (1994-2005), and Viktor Yushchenko (2005-2010), to discuss ways to achieve peace in the eastern part of the country.

"During the meeting, the parties exchanged opinions on the continued development of the Ukrainian state, the end of Russia's aggression in Donbas, and the achievement of peace," a statement posted on the Ukrainian presidential website on Thursday said.

Poroshenko mentioned Kravchuk's, Kuchma's, and Yushchenko's important roles as Ukrainian presidents in various periods of the Ukrainian state's establishment and development.

Poroshenko also gave them the jubilee medals "25 Years of Ukraine's Independence," which were awarded in 2016.
