Zhytomyr regional council bans public use of cultural products in Russian
KYIV. Oct 25 (Interfax) - Members of the Zhytomyr regional council have supported in a majority vote the moratorium on the public use of cultural products in Russian in their region on Thursday.
The Zhytomyr regional state administration was recommended to set up an interdepartmental ad hoc group to raise public awareness of the moratorium, the regional council said on its website. The group includes members of law enforcement agencies, district state administrations and the public of the region.
Additionally, the local authorities were asked to decide on banning the public use of the Russian-language products in any form in the respective local communities.
