Shoigu: Greek leadership to visit Russia in Dec
MOSCOW. Oct 29 (Interfax) - The Greek leadership is expected to pay a visit to Russia this December, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"Greece has always been and remains Russia's important partner in the Mediterranean region, as was once again confirmed by the outcomes of the Russian president's visit to Athens in 2016. We're also expecting the Greek leadership to visit our country in December," Shoigu said at the beginning of talks with Greek Defense Minister Panos Kammenos on Monday.
In early October, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras' visit to Russia was in the works and that his contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin was expected to take place in the winter.
