Payments under S-400 contract with India to be made in rubles - Deputy PM Borisov

HAVANA. Oct 31 (Interfax) - Payments under the contract for the delivery of Russian S-400 air defense missile systems will be made in rubles, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov told the press in Havana on Wednesday.

"The contract was concluded in rubles," Borisov said.

The contract for delivering five regimental sets of S-400 Triumf systems to India was signed on the sidelines of the Russian-Indian summit held in early October.

According to the Kremlin, the deal value exceeds $5 billion.

S-400 Triumf is designed to hit strategic and tactical aircraft, ballistic missiles, hypersonic targets, and other aerial attack means amid ECM and other countermeasures.

The system destroys aerodynamic targets on a range of up to 400 kilometers and ballistic targets flying at a speed of 4.8 kilometers per second on altitudes ranging from several meters to several dozen kilometers on a range of up to 60 kilometers.
