Fire extinguished at Khokhryakovskoye oil depost in Khanty-Mansiysk Region

KHANTY-MANSIYSK. Oct 31(Interfax) - A large fire at the Khokhryakovskoye field in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District has been put out, the Emergency Situations Ministry's main directorate for the region told Interfax.

"It was extinguished at 12:24 local time," the directorate said.

As reported, three people were injured when two fuel tanks caught fire at the Khokhryakovskoye oil deposit. Two people have been admitted to the Nizhnevartovsk district hospital in serious condition while the condition of the third individual is satisfactory.

A search is underway for another worker.

The fire affected an area of 1,000 square meters, with petroleum products spilling over an area of 3,000 square meters and flames spreading from the fuel tanks to administrative buildings, which have also been damaged.

Investigative bodies have opened a criminal case under part 2 of Article 216 of the Russian Criminal Code (violation of safety procedures while conducting works). Investigate activities are ongoing and the individuals responsible for violations are being identified.
