New Cuban leader arrives in Russia

MOSCOW. Nov 1 (Interfax) - Cuba's new leader Miguel Diaz-Canel arrived in Moscow on Thursday on his first official visit in this capacity.

The Cuban leader's aircraft landed at Vnukovo 2 airport.

On Friday the president of the Cuban Council of State and Council of Ministers will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Later in the day he is due to meet with Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko.

Diaz-Canel was elected as president in April 2018. Previously he served as First Vice President of the State Council.
