Putin asks Federation Council to relieve Gutsan of office as deputy prosecutor general
MOSCOW. Nov 6 (Interfax) - The Russian Federation Council's Constitutional Legislation and State-Building Committee has recommended that the Federation Council grant the president's request to relieve Deputy Prosecutor General Alexander Gutsan of his office due to transfer to another post.
"There is a request from the Russian president that Deputy Prosecutor General Alexander Vladimirovich Gutsan be relieved of his office," Artur Muravyov, the presidential envoy to the Federation Council, said at a committee meeting.
Deputy Prosecutor General Yury Ponomaryov said Gutsan was "leaving for another job."
The committee also recommended that the Federation Council relieve Deputy Prosecutor General Ivan Semchishin of his position based on his report regarding retirement in connection with length of service.
