Moscow, Damascus reps discuss formation of Syrian Constitutional Committee

MOSCOW. Nov 6 (Interfax) - The settlement of the Syrian crisis and the formation of the Constitutional Committee in Syria were on the agenda of the meeting between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov and Syrian Ambassador to Moscow Riyad Haddad, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website.

"During the discussion, the sides exchanged views on current developments in Syria and around, including the problems of forming the Constitutional Committee and returning Syrian refugees and internally displaced persons to their homes," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"A special focus was made on several specific issues concerning further steady development of the Russia-Syria multifaceted interaction with an emphasis on the effective use of the potential of the Russian-Syrian permanent commission on trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation," the ministry said.

Bogdanov received Haddad at his request, it said.
