Matviyenko says she'll visit Cuba, date not yet set
MOSCOW. Nov 7 (Interfax) - Russian Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko says she plans to visit Cuba and that the date will be decided via diplomatic channels.
"I am grateful for the invitation I received. As concerns possible dates, they will be discussed via diplomatic channels, depending on the opportunities, the schedule, so it's hard to talk about the date at the moment. But such a visit will take place, for sure," Matviyenko told journalists on Wednesday.
Earlier, Russia received the chairman of the Cuban parliament, and now it is a Russian delegation's turn to travel to Havana, she said.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez invited Matviyenko to Cuba during his recent visit to Russia.
