Terrorists who attacked Paris and Brussels in 2015, 2016 infiltrated Europe via Hungary

MOSCOW. Nov 7 (Interfax) - The terrorists who staged explosions in Paris in November 2015 and in Brussels in March 2016, had entered Europe through Hungary; now measures have been taken to minimize illegal migration through that country, Janos Hajdu, General Director of Hungary's Anti-Terrorist Center, said.

"Those terrorists who committed the explosions in Paris and Brussels, had 100% infiltrated [Europe] via Hungary," Hajdu told journalists in Moscow on Wednesday, during a conference of security and law enforcement chiefs attended by 125 delegations from 80 countries.

Terrorists took advantage of the wave of immigration in order to infiltrate Europe and stage attacks and were particularly active in 2015-2016, he said.

By building a border fence the Hungarian government has curbed the influx of illegal migrants, he said.

"Protection of Hungary's southern borders is strong. Police and the army are working. The fence is there. The alarm system is in place. We are prepared for any situation," Hajdu said.
