Russian Deputy PM Borisov heads up CSTO commission for military-economic cooperation
ASTANA. Nov 8 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov has been appointed as chairman of the inter-state commission for military-economic cooperation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov said.
"By the decision of the heads of state Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov has been appointed as chairman of the inter-state commission for military-economic cooperation for the purpose of improving the work of military-economic and military-technical cooperation, where many goals also have been set," Semerikov told a press conference after a CSTO Collective Security Council session in Astana on Thursday.
The heads of state considered and signed a whole host of documents providing regulating the CSTO's partnership and observer institutes, he said.
"This will give us further impetus to working with third countries, but in a more purposeful and specific fashion," Semerikov said.
